Preparation of Hydrophilic Antifogging Film Materials by Silicate Minerals

Abstract Silicate minerals are widely used as green, nontoxic, low-cost materials. In this experiment, hydrophilic antifogging films of silicate were prepared by the vacuum evaporation coating method. The hydrophilicity, performance, optical properties, and surface morphology film materials analysed characterised contact angle meter, hydrothermal method, ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer, atomic force microscope, respectively. results show that mineral is less than 25° hydrophilic. When thickness 100–200 nm, effect best. As increases, weakens. material has little on transmittance substrate. 100 maximum 92.2%, which 4.5% higher uncoated substrate some increasing transmittance. With increase thickness, nanoparticles gradually accumulate densely surface, roughness sample decreases, leads to decrease properties performance film.
